Power of Attorney

The Honorary Consulate of Lebanon in Halifax provides services to prepare, legalize, and authenticate powers of attorney (PoA) for Lebanese citizens and residents.

Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney is done and signed in person at the Consulate office. The Applicant should call for an appointment at (902) 700-6768 and provide the following:

  • Original Lebanese ID (Tazkarat al-Hawiya or Ikhraj Kayd). 
  • Original Canadian ID (Showing the picture of the applicant).
  • For property matters a copy of the Deed is required.
  • Provide a medical report or attestation for the client whose age 70 years and above. The mental competence of signatory of power of attorney must be established.

Fees:

  • $120.00 CDN, per signature per applicant for a General Power of Attorney.
  • $60.00 CDN, per signature per applicant for a Special Power of Attorney.

Note: The Personal/Family application form is required in order to process your application.

General or Special Power of Attorney done by a Notary Public

The Consulate office can legalize a General or a Special Power of Attorney done by a Notary public and legalized by Global Affairs Canada.

 

Fees:

  • $120.00 CDN, per signature per applicant, for a General Power of Attorney.
  • $60.00 CDN, per signature per applicant, for a Special Power of Attorney.

Note: The Personal/Family application form is required in order to process your application.
