The Honorary Consulate of Lebanon in Halifax provides compassionate support and guidance to Lebanese citizens and their families in arranging the transport of human remains or ashes from Canada to Lebanon.
Transport of Remains/Ashes
Contact a funeral home to assist in providing the following documents:
- Medical Certificate, and Statement of Death, issued by the Canadian Government.
- Certificate for shipment of the body outside the province
- Burial Permit
- Letter of non-contagious diseases issued by an authorized health institution
- Letter of embalming
- Letter of the sealed casket
- Canadian Passport of the deceased
- Lebanese ID of the deceased (Tazkara “بطاقة هوية” or Ikhraj Kayd)
- Lebanese Passport to be canceled (if applicable)
- FEES: $60.00 CDN
